Albuquerque City and DOJ Agree to Terminate EFIT Following Independent Investigation
Albuquerque, NM – August 23, 2024 – Albuquerque Police Department Achieves Full Compliance with Federal Consent Decree
On August 23, 2024, the City of Albuquerque filed a response to the External Force Investigative Team (EFIT) Final Backlog Report, fully agreeing with EFIT's findings. This agreement led to a joint motion by the City and the U.S. Department of Justice to terminate the Amended Order Establishing EFIT.
EFIT Administrator Mr. Neier expressed pride in the team's accomplishments during their investigation from 2021 to April 2024. Their work was instrumental in helping the Albuquerque Police Department achieve full compliance with the Federal Consent Decree.
